ABOUT

OUR HISTORY

The Dance Workshop first opened its doors over 37 years ago under the direction of Susan Bush. The studio was based out of the Alliston Memorial Arena for the bulk of those years. Upon Susan's retirement in 2014 the studio was purchased by Colleen Brinston.

ABOUT US

The Dance Workshop is a rapidly growing studio in Alliston, Ontario. Under the direction of Miss Colleen the studio has grown from 80 students to nearly 300 students in the past two years. We believe our slogan “dance, done, differently” is what sets us apart from other studios and what has contributed greatly to our success.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

It has always been the philosophy of The Dance Workshop that dance enriches the development of the whole person. Under the instruction of qualified teachers, students at The Dance Workshop develop confidence in themselves and their abilities in a welcoming atmosphere.

HOW ARE WE DIFFERENT?

Our Promise to Parents
Our choreography and music will always be age appropriate while being paired with modest, affordable costumes.

WE BELIEVE IN...

Equal Opportunities for All Students
The Dance Workshop believes that all students regardless of ability or future aspirations in dance deserve the same high standard of dance education and equal opportunities to strive for their personal best.

Qualified Teachers for Every Age Group
Regardless of age or class level, all students will be taught by qualified adults. This means that each child has the same qualified teachers whether they are 2 years old or 18 years old. We firmly believe that young children deserve the same quality education as their older peers. With a qualified teacher as their instructor we ensure our younger students are given the building blocks to which the foundation of dance is built upon.

Our directors are not only qualified dance teachers but university graduates. Miss Colleen recently completed the Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies program with the Royal Academy of Dance and is a Registered Social Worker. Miss Jennifer is a former principal dancer with a Toronto based Hip Hop company and is an Ontario Certified Teacher. Why is this beneficial for our students you may ask? Both Miss Colleen and Miss Jennifer have experience working with children of all ages and abilities and tailor lesson plans to meet the needs of their classrooms.
